B-24 crew lost in China Oct 9, 1944
I am trying to locate the Relatives and immediate Family of
the crew of a B-24 lost in China on Oct 9, 1944.
I am in the process of compiling a history of their
missions and daily life in China, and I want to exchange
information with any Relatives or family members.
The plane was called "Red Hot Riding Hood"
and it was with the 374th BS- 308th BG-part of 14th AF
and it was lost laying mines on the Yangtze River.
The crew was:
Pilot: James W. Dunlap
Co-pilot Theodore N. Dickson
Nav. Wayne S. Schlentz
Bomb. George A Lescher
Eng. William S. Clarke(my Great Uncle)
Radio James W. Brown(he was called "brownie" by the crew)
Radar Walter E. Wilson
Gunners Thaddeus S. Nocek, Harold R. Dawson & Ira J. Ingle
Also if you served in the 374th , during 1944 especially, and want to comment
on your experiences -feel free to contact me.
