I noticed in my earlier search that there were several Begleys who were casualties from WW2, although none were Hobart. Two of these are from Leslie County. Also several others from Kentucky in General but at least one other in nearby Laurel County. The two from Leslie County are:
CPL Carl Begley
ID: 15065708 Branch of Service: U.S. Army Hometown: Leslie County, KY Status: DNB
TEC4 Wallace Begley
ID: 35451178 Branch of Service: U.S. Army Hometown: Leslie County, KY Status: DNB
DNB means Died Non-Battle.The first number in the Army serial Number indicates induction status.Carl enlisted (1)and Wallace was drafted (3).
I would have to believe that two individuals from the same County with the same last name would have been related in Leslie County, KY.Perhaps inquiries at the Historical Society would yield some information about these two that might shed some light on "Hobart".
Dave Berry (pathfinder) Pathfinder is an Airborne term indicating a specially trained airman or parachutist who precedes an airborne assault to establish navigational aids.Pathfinders are my particular WW2 interest area.I use it as an identifier on another WW2 site to distinguish myself from the owner of the site who just happens to have the same name as I do.
