Were you successful in reconstructing your father's WW2 service? I, too, am trying to reconstruct the experiences of a Dr (major) Jess Stubenbord who served in France and Germany from 1944 to 1945. I would be interested in any sources you may have. Unfortunately, I do not know what unit he was assigned with after he left Iran (Persian Gulf Command. We know he was near the Battle of the Bulge area and was in the Rhineland Campaign. Have you read the book "And If I Perish" by Monahan and Neidel-Greenlee? It is a recent publication and follows the lives of the Nurses in WW2 in Europe. Quite good.
