Ok everyone was right- 6 months is
the waiting period for the IDPF forms..
I got mine today in the mail.
BUT I was dissapointed in what they
send me. They send me a 1 page paper
that stated above in BOLD -Information
Releasable under the FOIA....
Did everyone else get the same thing
when they got their IDPF?
It was everything I knew- where my
great-uncle was born- when he died-
his full name-and his rank!!!!!
I have read several web sites where the
Military records people make a big thing
about IDPF's... I read in websites saying that
and IDPF would state persons cause of death--
if an autopsy was performed.. where they found
him dead and tons more of info.....
Maybe since he was my great-uncle
and I am not the next of kin--
that little info was disclosed to me??
Maybe I should have asked my grandmother
to have send for the IDPF.....
Or did they send me the wrong info??
Was there a certain form anyone filled
out? When I requested my info all I did
was type a letter with the basic info...
This so called IDPF was also signed by an archives technician...
Any input and help would be great!!
