Danny, my dad served at Guiuan, Samar during WWII in the navy. He was there not long before the war ended.
What is a "Commando"?
My dad I suppose served in the ASD Navy 3195. Whatever that means.
I know he and his group were responsible for picking up cravites (sp--crivites?) Those were the shells and parts of downed planes.
My dad took a lot of pictures over there with a number of the guys he was with. If your dad had anything to do with this type of thing or was stationed at the same place or with the same group, I have a number of pictures with the names. I also have a lot of pictures of the Philipines and the people and places taken during the war.
It would be neat if it turned out your dad and mine were together on that long strip of land in the middle of the ocean!!
