Re: Searching for information
The first cousin:
Pvt. Ellis Davidson, age 22, U.S. Army, 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. Killed Sunday, February 4, 1945, buried at Manilla American Cemetery.
The second cousin:
PFC Harold Massey, age 22, Service: U.S.Army, KIA.I was told that Harold was shot down over the South Pacific. Date listed on his grave is 29 May 1944.I have not seen the grave myself; this was information I found through another site.
Harold is buried near his parents at Morgan Mill Cemetery, Morgan Mill, Erath County, Texas.
My great uncle, Lt. James L. Davidson, age 23, was killed at the Battle of the Bulge, Jan. 7, 1945. He was with the 193 Glider Infantry.According to yet another cousin, James was leading an attack when he was killed. Whether this is true or not, I do not know.He was first buried in Belgium; it took the family three years to get him returned to the States and he is buried next to his mother in New Mexico.I have tried for a couple of years to find anyone who might have known him in the service, but have had no luck.
Thanks J.P. and Steve, for answering so promptly.I greatly appreciate the help!I will working on those requests today.
