Roger Myers - In order to get actual medical records you must have the name of the place where he was treated and the exact date of the treatment. That is almost impossible to get. Now NPRC where those records were held sent some to the VA because that is where the veteran would recieve treatment if he needed it and asked for it andhe fit their requirements. Problem is the NPRC (National Personnel Records Center in St Louis part of NARA) kept no account of which records were sent.The phone # for VA is 1 800 827 1000. Have the complete military name and service #. If no service # try social security #.
Besides some veterans were knowledgeable enough to registerwith the VA before they needed help.Mary
