Second Lieutenant Glenn W. Sayre, 027613, U. S. Marine Corps Reserve, was a member of Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 6th Marines, 2d Marine Division when he was killed in action the night of 15 June 1944 on Saipan. According to a report, the battalion command post (CP) had received heavy shelling and Sayre was one of several men who had been caught in the open. There were no remains.
Glenn William Sayre was born 2 June 1919 at Casper, Wyoming and entered service from Porterville, California.
