Re: 16th Infantry Division Co. L
As the saying goes,"you can't get there from here". There is a big gap in your information.
An infantry division had about 15,000 men.
It usually had 3 infantry battallions plus associated services like tanks(a battalion) , artillary , signals, medical, etc. which would be of lesser size.
Battallions were divided into regiments and regiments into companies.
How many Co. L's there were in total I don't know but they could number in the dozens. You need a Regimental number or similar unit designationto get anywhere.
Also, WWII ended 60 years ago. The youngest vets would be 78 years old now and their numbers are decreasing by the thousands as each day goes by. The chances of finding someone from a small unit of less than 200 men is very, very slim.
