The 750th Tank Battalion was constituted in the Army of the United States (AUS) 5 May 1942 and activated New Year's Day 1943 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Landed in France in October 1944 where it was assigned to U. S. First Army. The battalion was attached to 104th Infantry Division 16 November to 23 December 1944 and 6 February to 22 May 1945. Three campiagn credits: Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace & Central Europe (your Dad's eligibility for any or all depends on his dates of service within prescibed areas of operations). Inactivated 16 December 1945 in New York City. Allotted to Mississippi Army National Guard in March 1951 (organized and Federally recognized 28 May 1951 with headquarters at Philadelphia, Mississippi). Redesignated 2d Battalion, 108th Armored Cavalry in November 1955.
The World War II Victory Medal is authorized for all who served on active duty with the Armed Forces of the United States or Government of the Philippines between 7 December 1941 and 31 December 1946, both dates inclusive. In addition to the above, your Dad should be entitled to the Good Conduct Medal and American Theater Medal.
