Records for Cousin killed in WW11

I am doing our Family's genealogy and would like to find the records for my Cousin who was killed when his ship,USS Maddox was sunk 10 July 1943. He had been on the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor and lived through that and then was killed when the "Maddox" was bombed.
Any help finding his records would be appreciated! I don't know if they would allow me to have them even if I do find them.
