Am I ever with you! One is reminded of the story behind the great Bing Crosby movie, "White Christmas...."
Jim, one of the wonderful RAOGK volunteers (Bexar Co., Texas) was able to locate a funeral home notice (below) from the information posted herein separately by Sandy Crouch:
San Antonio Express-News|| Jun 25, 1983, page 10F|| SEXTON Maj. Gen. William T. Sexton, USA (Ret.), age 81, of 8425 Athren, died Tuesday, June 21, 1983. Survivors: Wife, Mary W. Sexton; son, Maj. William T. Sexton, Jr., (Ret.), both of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Elaine M. Sowers, Olympia, Washington, __ grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Graveside service with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Ft. Myer, Virginia. Arrangements with Porter Loring, 7101 McCullough.
Separately, William's burial has not yet been entered into the VA online gravesite locator directory. From a telephone call this morning to "Marie" at Arlington National, William was buried there 27 June 1983; he rests at Section 11; Site 586-1. Also from Arlington, William was born Sept 03, 1901 dec'd 21 June 1983.
I have quite a number of news items to transcribe from the 40's and 50's about William, but am so very thankful to Sandy and RAOGK for Jim's help locating the above entry.
Note separately that William's brother, Theodore Lawson Sexton, was the Mayor of Leavenworth Kansas at one time (PoliticalGraveyard.com).
