Re: For Mr. Turner
My dear Ms. Price, I am pleased and flattered by your inquiry.
This is a brief response, but I will follow in the next day or so more fully.
I have several publications which I use for reference, but the two main ones are:
WORLD WAR II ORDER of BATTLE, Shelby L. Stanton, author, Galahad Books, publisher.
2194 DAYS of WAR, An Illustrated Chronology of the
Second World War, C. Salmaggui and A. Pallavisini, compilers, Barnes and Noble, publisher.
The first gives all unit histories by date.
The second identifies specific sites and units engaged in combat by date.
If you will give me your dad's name, date of departure and
date of return, it will lighten my load.
I anticipate that my outline will be fairly long, and I think it would be best if I sent it directly to you.
Thank you for this opportunity to be of service.
Louie F. Turner
