65th Anniversary of the Battle of Crete
Dear Readers and Fellow Historians,
About this time last year I posted on the Greece forum of these webpages an announcement that a party of 57 New Zealanders were making a Pilgrimage to the Island of Crete to attend the 65th anniversary of the battle for that Island. While this Pilgrimage took place during the months of May and June 2006, I have since return home and have prepared an "Unofficial Report" of that journey. Those of you who may wish to share some of those wonderful memories and amazing coincidences we experienced on the Island can do so by clicking on the following URL: http://crete.angnz.comhttp://crete.angnz.com
I've also included on that website a companion narrative outlining the work done by a little known post-war New Zealand Army unit that returned to Crete in 1945/46 in search of missing New Zealanders. For ease of reading, both these documents have been prepared in two formats; one as a web document and the other in "MS Word".Hopefully you'll be able to view both.
Kind regards and Seasons Greetings from New Zealand
