It's been awhile since I've been on the board.I'm seeking information for Michael Jurczak 12099459.I did find him on the WWII memorial site, but I am interested in what unit he would have served in.His WWII info states that he was FOD, but he is not listed on the ABMC site. From my experience in researching, that implies that he was once considered to be MIA, but if he were MIA, he would be listed on the ABMC site. So, his body must have been found, after the listing of the WWII honor roll, which has him listed as FOD.
He is listed in an IDPF of a man from the 5th division who went missing on Feb. 9, 1945 near Echternach, Luxembourg. along with a man from the 417th 76th division, Both of these men were positively I.D'd in 1951.
There is a sheet of paper in the IDPF that states :Ful indiv ident approved Dazel W. Sisk Sr 34776022 Frank C Silvia 31470178 XRAY
27 BELGRADE AS MICHAEL JURCZAK 12099459.
There is not another word about Jurczak in the IDPF.The investigation pertains to the other two men.
Jurczak is not in my 5th division database.I am wondering if anyone can tell me what unit this man served in.
Also, any ideas as to the "21 BELGRADE" code?
Thanks so much.
