Hello Friend Louie,
Camp Wolters caught my eye...couldn't resist putting in my "Two cents worth"..... as our old buddy Jack would say.
I was procesed at Camp Wolters in 1942. Miserable place!
You will probably recall that right next to Camp Wolters was an ROTC Summer camp...Camp Dallas. I was never priviledged to spend a month of summer training because my parents didn't have the hundred bucks for enrollment.
Instead I went to CMTC camp at Camp Bullis near San Antonio. It was a month long and I was paid $30.00 for the month, which was a private's army pay in those days. When I drew my pay, I thought that I was rich.I had never had that much moneyin my life.Les
