Took me long enough, don't get to work on this enough...
I have obtained Robert Clay's Serial Numberand know he was in the Infantryas a PFC and died in what they show on his Report of Death as Place of Death:European Area.
On the letter I received from the NPRC they state that they do not issue a DD Form 214 to Killed in Action, makes sense. They also state that if the records were in St. Louis in July of 1973 that they would have been in the area that suffered the most damage in the fire of that date.
A phone # was given for questions or commends regarding their response.Do you happen to have any other ideas.
