Re: H & S Co 182 Engineers C Bn
Hi,It appears that they were attached to the 1142nd Engineers Combat Group at some point in time. But looking at their history it doesn't appear they were in Italy.
However in this obituary, it states that the 182nd was in an Italian campaign.
"Ray was called away to World War II and served over three years until the war ended. He received basic training with the 88th Division of Engineers and served with the 337th Engineers in North Africa, and with the 182nd Combat Engineers in the Italian Campaign.
This website may hold information on the 182nd.You'll probably have to review and search all the Armies information that you find.
And this site just gives some general information on Engineer Combat Battalions. You might check out all the ARMIES of WWII...ie..Third Army, 7th Army etc.
And this is some history about the Mediterranean Theatre action.
I do hope this leads to something for you.Good Luck!!!
