CCC Camps and training
Back in the thirties during the great depression jobs were practically nil.A man worked for a dollar a day and was glad to do it. As a young teen ager I worked on farms at the edge of Dallas, where I grew up for 50 cents a day from sun up to sun down.
The Civilian Conservation Corps was a semi-military organization where young boys 17 and older were happy to enlist for 30 dollars a month...the same pay tat a private in the army received. They wore military uniforms and adhered to military discipline. Some historians will say that the CCC was the nucleus af our army, that was formed several years before WW II.Les
