forget the DoD Go straight to the source..contact your congressmans office,first by email then with a quick followup letter ,in which you advise them that you will be visiting their office(if you can) very soon to speak to him/her about this issue. Being a relative of one of the crew will help you. You may want to contact the American Legion Post near you and ask for their assistance and guidance in this.Making a contact with the VFW wouldn't hurt either.Be sure to have all your details about the discovery of the crash site in order when you finally get a meeting with your congressman. If you get a response other than positive,i suggest getting your local TV investigative reporter to inquire about what and why the government does not act quickly to bring the remains of these Air Corp crew at least back home to the state that they enlisted from . If living relatives can be found that would be nice to have them their to receive the remains.
