Bob, Bless your heart! Thank you so much for the time & trouble you took to get your info to me. I printed the info from forum #1656 for my file and so I can send off for the IDPF. I checked out the ABMC web site (thanks, I didn't know of this site). This is what it has on Norris D. Dickey:
NAME: Dickey Norris D RANK: SSGT SERIAL NO.: 19059657 DATE OF DEATH: April 5, 1944 CEMETERY: NA -- Norris D. Dickey Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army Air Forces 19059657 428th Bomber Squadron, 310th Bomber Group, Medium Entered the Service from: Washington Died: April 5, 1944 Tablets of the Missing at North Africa American Cemetery Carthage, Tanisia Awards: Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart -- You say this may be an incorrect Serial No., I'll try to verify. Can you tell me anything about this squadron? Will the IDPF give the type and/or name of the plane info.
The info I have on Norris D. Dickey is from a large tombstone along with his parents info in Perkins Cemetery, Perkins, Payne Co., Okla. So, there is a chance he is not buried there? Also, the death date in ABMC is different than the date on the tombstone. Hopefully the IDBF will verify the death date?
