I'm trying to find the family of PFC Donald J. Ogilvie, ASN 42027825, 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division. PFC Donald J. Ogilvie was killed in action in Germany on December 5, 1944.
This is what I know about Donald J. Ogilvie and his family.
He was married to Doris Ogilvie, who back in 1949 lived at the following address, 46 S. Buffalo Road, Orchard Park, NY. However, the Orchard Park Historian Files have no information with regard to PFC Donald J. Ogilvie or his family.
Donald and Doris have a daughter, Donna M. Ogilvie.
According to the army files Donald had a brother named John H. Ogilvie, who used to live at 442 Woodlawn Ave. Buffalo, NY. This is also the address of their father John B. Ogilvie. According to the information that I have now, John H. Ogilvie passed away on May 26, 1993.
In the 1930 census Donald shows living in the city of Buffalo at 137 Northland Ave. in the home of his grandmother Ida Holmes and his grandfather Henry A. Holmes. The children of Ida and Henry are, Florence A. Holmes, Howard L. Holmes, James Holmes, Bettie Holmes, Robert Holmes, Arthur Holmes, Henriette L. Holmes and Emma E. Holmes. One of the daughter's is Donald Ogilvie's mother but I don't know which one. Donald's sisters Dorothy and Jean also lived in the same home.
Arthur Holmes owned a diary company in Buffalo. His brother Howard was a manager at this company.
PFC Donald J. Ogilvie is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, The Netherlands. His grave is adopted. The family who adopted his grave would like to get in touch with the Ogilvie family.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help us.
