Re: 148th Field artillery Battery A WWII
Gary, I wish I my dad "Lefty" wasstill alive but he died at the age of 48 from cancer in 1968. He did have a brother my Uncle Mish whose real name was Clarence but I never knew him by any other name but Uncle Mish. He died a few years later after my dad in Coeur d' Alene, ID. I will ask my mother if he served in the same infantry. my mother does have pictures of him in the service as well as my dad. I also have an Uncle Ray, my dad's other brother who is still alive but I don't think he served in the same batallion. I know he may have chauffeured Gen. McArthur. I have actual photographs of McArthur that were taken with a amateur camera that my Uncle probably took. I will also ask my mother if she knows of anyone that may have served with my dad that she may know of that is still alive. It seems so sad to think that there are so many gone. I lost my dad at such a young age and never got to ask him all the things that I would like to now. My Uncle Mish does have a daughter in Alaska who I could e-mail and see if she has any records of where her dad served if my mother doesn't. Thanks for your information.
