#1.Looking for any acquaintance of Bone, Alfred C., Intel.& Reconn, Reg. HQ., 103rd Infantry Reg., 43rd Inf.Div., WWII.From Tennessee.
#2. For several months I have been researching the 103rd as my father served the entire war with them.I have read a great deal on the 103rd but find practically all accounts are based on battalion movements which I understand as they are the fighting units of the regiment. My interests are in the exact movements of Regimental HQ itself. In my studies of the 103rd I often find battalions great distances apart or even on different islands. For someone trying to track Reg.HQ this leaves you not knowing where they were located. What is one to do?
#3.Can someone explain exactly what comprised a Reg. Combat Team?
#4.Is there anywhere within the government one can obtain morning reports, after action battle reports, and/or official information on the regiment?
#5.After recently learning that DA has been reclaiming personnel records damaged in the St.Louis fire since 1973 and that those 201's previously thought destroyed could now very likely exist I requested my fathers but it was confirmed that his records were destroyed. Now my question is this.Is there anywhere copies of the orders awarding my father his silver star can be obtained and/or the circumstances for which he received the medal.Dad never wanted to talk about it, just said they all deserved one.
