I don't have a copy of the book you requested, but I was able to get a copy of my father's military records by writing to the National Personnel Records Center at 9700 Page Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63132-5100.(I filled out forms downloaded from the National Archives). They also have a website at http://vetrecs.archives.govhttp://vetrecs.archives.gov.I did this about three years ago and the website may have changed.
My father was also with the 823rd, Company B.There is a lot of information about the 823rd on the internet.
The 823rd landed on Omaha Red Fox Beach on 24 June 1944.
They were attached to the 29th & 30th Infantry Divisions. They fought in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. My father came home to his wife & child on 31 October 1945.
Good luck.
