Re: WWII nurses...angel of .....
This is a correction and an addendum to the subject post.
Dr. Ambrose indicated that there were 17 deaths to Nurse Corps staff. In fact, there were 17 flight nurse deaths.
Sixteen RNs received medals for valor posthumously;
Six were killed at Anzio;
Four flight nurses killed during flights;
Six died in the kamikaze attack on the Hospital Ship COMFORT;
Thirteen flight nurses died in weather related crashes.
This brings a total of 201 RNs who died under combat conditions during World War II.
which may be had as is a 29 page printout.
Great and informative.
