Major William Richard Carpenter

Hello Everybody,

We are Dennis and Gerda from the Netherlands.

Together as a family we have adopted soldiers who are buried on the American War Cemeteries in Belgium and the Netherlands.

For these heroes we made a tribute which we wanted to share with you:

Major William Richard Carpenter (he was named Billy)

Born: 30 Jan. 1917 Crawford, Antilope county Nebraska.
Died 12 April 1945 (together with Charles L Bannett who also is buried on the Margraten Cemetery at plot C Row 10 Grave 30)
William’s Army Serial Number : O-450256
Unit: 505th Prcht Inf 82nd Abn Div

William was the son of:
Denver Ellis Carpenter 1883-1949 farmer and passed away in Omaha, Douglas Nebraska.
and Helen Catherine Grabow 1890-1960

Clair Carpenter 1914-
Dorothy Carpenter 1919-
Daniel Edward Carpenter 1921- 1980
Robert Carpenter 1925
Mary Carpenter 1930

Major William Richard Carpenter is Missing in Action and his name is Memorialized on the Walls of Missing at the Margraten War Cemetery. See his tribute:
