James J or P Bradley of Salem MA
I am wondering (1) if there is anyone out there who had a father, son, uncle etc who served in ww11 in Europe in the
17th airborne, 466 parachute field battalion? and if so if they have any very old photo's -- perhaps a group photo? with names mentioned would even be better.I'd love to have a photo of my uncle/godfather-my mothers only brother.
He was born in Peabody Ma in 1912, only son of Patrick Bradley and Mary Ann O'Donnell both were born in Co Donegal.
James had 4 older and 1 younger sister. They were in Salem Ma at least by the 1920's. Patrick died March 1931, Mary Ann Nov 1958. James died in Jan 1957 in Saugus Ma.
His wifes' names was Dorothy(Mackin)Bradley, and at some point during the later part of the war they had a daughter born in either 1943-44(July).
I'd love to hear anything from someone who had a family member and especially if that family were in MA or New England.-but actually anywhere. I found information about the unit, but nothing mentioning Jim's name or anything about him.
