How to read WWII discharge Papers
I have my husband's Grandfather's Honorable discharge paper from the U.S. army. Thomas J. Gross from the 3277th Ordnance Base Depot Company in WWII.He supposedly was in the Battle of the Bulge, but the paper says he served in Battles & Campaigns: GO 33 & 40 WD 45 and Rhineland. Is the Battle of the Bulge included in the Rhineland campaign? If anyone can help me out what this means I would appreciate it.How do It tell what regiment and division he was in?
I also have a lot of photos of him in belgium yukking it up with his army buddies.I would love to contact guys that he knew in the war.He died in 1977.
