A neighbor is a former Philippine Consul to the United States and personal friend of Ferdinand & Imelda Marcos. Through him, I recently located a source for a limited number of Philippines Defense and Philippines Liberation Medals.
These were first issued during the war in the form of service ribbons. Medals were manufactured by the Philippine Government after the war and issued upon request by individuals eligible. The Philippine Government received so few requests for these that a large quantity was destroyed in the 1980's.
I'm asking twenty-seven dollars each (add seven dollars and fifty cents for S & H and insurance). Again, only a limited number available, all being offered on a "first come, first served" basis while they last.
