Francis Henry Trammell died in 1974 leaving behind alot of questions and a souvenior book of Alaska. In it men had signed their names and left a little message.I'd love to get in touch with any of these men. We've heard so many rumors about Francis being in WW2 but he didn't talk about it. I also have a couple of pictures of men that have no names. These are the people that signed this book:Jean A. Laigo, Leo J. Osalvo, Antonio T. Lagua, Wayne W. Turner, John W. Miller, Luis M. Belisa Jr., Jonny Elliot,Samuel P. Hubbell Jr., Steve Layton, Sam A. McNeeley Jr., Carl Nikon, A.D. Roney, Robert T. Fisher, ?? Roche,G. E. Waynick, Floyd E. Smith, John L. Sloan, Charles J. McNamara. Allie J. Marcel, Clifford Machade, Anthony T. LeClaire ,Cleveland G. McHenry. There are pages missing from this book and some of the signatures are hard to read. Also have a card from a Rita La Pierre from Seattle, Washington. Also a bunch of discharge papers with these ships listed on them:"SS Sunset Hills", USAT Sgt. Archer T. Gammon, Pvt. Rbt. L. Deckard Ex L.T. 818, Sgt "Ellis R. Weicht", USAT "Gen Wm. Weigel".I have papers saying that Francis was in the Army, Coast Guard and the Merchant Mariners. We've heard rumors that Francis was a POW during this war but he never talked about it. I also have a paper that says Francis went AWOL. I'm in the process now of trying to get Francis' military records.Anybody that can shed some light on any of this or even know some of these people or the ships listed and their purpose please get in touch. You can answer directly here or email me.Thanks so much.
