Grandfather's Military Record
Recently finding this side of the family, my guncle sent to me my grandfather's military record from WW II. I know nothing of military stuff, but have learned a little browsing the internet. I was told he flew with the flying tigers in WW II. It does not say that on the record I received. It does say he was a Navigator and battles: Rhineland. My college teacher said the Flying Tigers were in the Pacific.
Deocorations are: American Theater Service Medal--European African Middle Eastern Service Medal- WW II Victory Medal. He also is listed as an Major.
There is more on here, but I don't know what is relevant. I'm so interested to know, because after the war my grandfather became severely mentally ill from it. A very sad story. He has been a ward of the state of California since in an institution. I have never met him, but would like to know more about what this all means. Any help sure is appreciated. My email is email@example.com Thanks in advance. Debbie
