Pvt 1st Class Homer Marlin Park was wounded in action on this day. He was shot when a bullet richoced and struck him in the back near his spine. He was noticed by a buddy who saw his finger move and he drove a tank over him until someone could come to his aid. They carried him from the battle field thinking he was dead he had lost almost all his blood. The medics finally found a vein & revived him. He was shipped by train, home to WV. The family would like to thank tose who saved him during that time.
His nickname is "Mug" he will be 77 in Oct 2001.If the man who drove the tank or carried him from the field is still living....Thanksfor saving our father who was 20 years old at the time...Ann (Park) Newell
