51st ECBN activated at Plattsburgh Barracks, N.Y., 1 Apr 43; departed Hampton Roads, VA, Port of Embarkation, 12 Nov 43; arrived North Africa, 4 Dec 43; (NOTE: The unit was not in combat in North Africa). arrived England, 20 Jan 44; arvd. France -ETO, 27 June 44 (D-Day, plus 21); returned to Hampton Roads, VA, 27 Oct 45; inactivated at Camp Patrick Henry, VA, 27 Oct 45.
Location at war's end, 15 Aug 45; Biebelried, Germany.

I don't have any information as to the unit's casualties, but considering where they fought, I would imagine it was high.
I may find more information for you later . OK ?
Hope this helps your daughter with her assignment.
