The division consisted of two glider infantry regiments (327th & 401st) and one parachute infantry regiment (502d) from 15 August 1942 to 28 February 1945. This configuration was changed to two parachute infantry regiments (502d & 506th) and one glider infantry regiment (327th) effective 1 March 1945. 502d and 506th were never glider units.
I can provide a regimental history from August 1917 to the present (elements are active today) but it's all pointless if he served only a few days or weeks with the regiment prior to his release from active duty (which may well be the case). Establish length of service with 327th then go from there.
