Uncle Bob, Sandia Airbase?

The above is all I can locate. It was an air depot training station situated ten miles southeast of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Also hosted a convalescent hospital. In 1946 it passed to control of the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project, military liaison with Atomic Energy Commission. Transferred to Defense Atomic Support Agency in 1959 and absorbed by Kirtland Air Force Base in 1971. Now Sandia National Laboratory. Your Grandad was probably a patient at the convalescent hospital.
