Re: Batton Death March
A cousin, PAUL PHILIP SIDNEY SNOWDEN, was a second lieutenant, Corps of Engineers, in the Philippines in 1941. He survived the "Bataan Death March", escaped, was recaptured, escaped again by swimming back to Luzon when the "Hell Ship" he was aboard was sunk by Allied planes. Fought with Filipino guerillas until captured again. Was sent to China where he nearly died working in the coal mines. He recieved notice he was being recalled for the Korean War and took his own life. A sad and terrible waste of a human life.... and he was but one among thousands.
