Battery A, 872d Field Artillery Bn.
Forgot to mention. The 66th Infantry Division was organized in April 1943 but didn't go overseas until November 1944. The division and its major components - the 262d, 263d & 264th Infantry and 721st, 870th, 871st & 872d Field Artillery Battalions - earned one campaign credit (Rhineland Campaign). That the division isn't credited with participation in the Ardennes-Alsace Campaign doesn't necessarily mean your uncle didn't take part in the Battle of the Bulge. Your best source for the info you're seeking is his discharge certificate (FRPC, St. Louis MIGHT be able to furnish this info but be prepared to wait for several months for a reply).
