102d Infantry was a separate, non-divisional unit assigned or attached to various major headquarters in the Pacific Theater. The regiment isn't credited with the Ryukyus Campaign, which is an indication he was assigned or attached to another unit at that time.
Ryukyus Campaign extended from 26 March to 2 July 1945, both dates inclusive, and included the assault and seizure of Okinawa and Ie Shima and the occupation of several of the smaller islands in the chain. It was the last major Allied offensive in the Pacific.
Combat Infantryman was his primary Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). The rest of that entry indicates he was detailed as a Military Policeman (MP) during the Post-war Occupation, probably in Japan, Korea or Okinawa.
