1/7/02My godfather was killed in action in World War II, last name Dubin, came from Phila.Pa. killed between l94l and l945 overseas.He came from an area called Strawberry Mansion in the Phila. Pa. section.He was in his twenties when killed. Looking for any information on him, what unit he served with, family, friends, siblings, relatives that may know anything about him.His religion was Jewish. His first name could have been Benjamin or Edward, but not sure. He did attend schools in Phila.Pa. He was one of the first Jewish soldiers killed from the Strawberry Mansion Section at that time in history.
Also looking for Memorial for the World War II soldiers who came from Stawberry Mansion area, there was a placque dedicated somewhere in Phila. Pa. Records have been lost in the fire of the l970's in St.Louis, Missouris, Thousands of records destroyed. (military records). My grandparents were Michael/Yetta Stein who had a barber shop in Strawberry Mansion (Phila.Pa.) My parents were Manuel and Rae Stein.
