Good morning, Sam Poor !
My reference indicates that your uncle's company was a part of the 4th Infantry Division, which included three
Infantry Regiments, 8th, 12th and 22nd, plus other elements.
On 16 Nov 44, the division was under command of VII Corps.
Briefly, the division moved into the Zweitfall area to relieve the 28th ID, 6 Nov 44;
fighting inthe Huertgen Forest, 12th IR encountered strong a German counterattack, 10 Nov 44, which cut off regimental contact until 15 Nov 44;
a gap occurred between the 8th IR and 22nd IR, bringing the offensive to a halt, 19 Nov 44;
the attack was resumed, 22 Nov 44.
Since he was reported KIA, 16 Nov 44, the combat narrative ends here.
With best regards,
Louie F. Turner.
