Greetings, William Webster !
I checked for his possible burial in Italy, but without success.
I noted that there are 131 war casualties with that last name still listed as interred abroad, but not Watie.
So I guess that you must want some idea as to where he could have been when fatally wounded.
My reference indicates that the division was in a rest
situation following the capture of Piedmote d'Alife,
20 Oct 43;
it went back on the line, 3 Nov 43;
it crossed the Volturno River at Sesto Campano, and fought through the Hitler Line, 4/14 Nov 43;
it went on the capture key German mountain defensive positions, starting 29 Nov 43.
There is a gap of information as related specifically to
I have another source to check, and will get back to you if I find anything. OK ?
