Some may object to me telling once again about my brother but I do this in his name because we need help.
"Rip" was killed 3 April 1945, Consolacion, Cebu, PI while on a bombing mission in advance of the allied invasion. They, the crew, classified as MIA.One year and one day later, 4 April 1946, they were declared KIA.In Jan 1947 a search party went in and recovered remains they left behind in 1945.Buried several times they, the crew, were brought to Jefferson Barracks for a group burial Dec 1949. In Jan or Feb 1951 a team, loose term, went back to the crash site because natives brought in some dog tags and skeltal remains to the U.S Counsel. Remains found.Again, later date in 1951, search, remains found.Families never notified of new finds.A great deal of investigating and documents recently found by myself and one other tell this. However the remains found after the initial find in 1945 are missing. With all of this one must wonder what was buried in St Louis. At that time Graves Registration was being closed out in the Philippines.I have tried for over one year to get CILHI involved. Army Casualty says this case is bazaar. Senator Warner's office only asked CILHI and this went nowhere.
If anyone has a suggestion I will appreciate it.This 3 April marked 57 years Rip has waited to come home. He and so many others deserve better. They as others are easily forgotten if someone doesn't fight for them.
