I found this information on Google.com. A friend of a Emil Echert sent it in. Here is what it says. Emil Echart was among the 15 victims of a B24 bomber crash found near Tollgte Oregon Aug 25, 1945. Eleven of the men were fron the Sioux Falls AirField. The tragic flight was a routine mission, which began early morning when the 11 men were picked up at the Sioux Falls air base by the bomber from Walla Walla Washington. The plane was reported missinglater that day. It was found the next day seven miles east of Tollgate. All the men were killed. Cause of the crash was never determined. Another plane in the flight arrived at Walla Walla with foliage from the tree tops in its bomb bay, and a third plane crashed at Butte Montana with no crew men injured. Hope this the information you are looking for.
