Re: Patton's 3rd Army,302 Infantry,93rd Divi
Good morning !!
This is in response to your latest inquiry.
Bob responded to this 3-12-2000 with the same information I had composed and lost last night, so I will not re-do the effort.
If you wish to confirm where and when Patton's 3rd. Army was around 3-2-45, I recommend these references:
"2194 Days of War", edited by Salmaggi and
Pallavisini, published by Barnes&Noble, NYNY, printed in Italy. This provides a day-by-day account of military involvement on all fronts. It mentions Trier and the 94th. (but not the 93rd).
"Citizen Soldiers" by Ambrose, published by
Simon&Shuster, NYNY. This also provides a daily record by unit in many instances. It also mentions the Tried action in March-45.
"World War II Order of Battle", by Stanton, published by Galahad Books, NYNY. It gives the military organization and military history of the various elements involved. It will provide information on both the 93rd and the 94th. so that you may resolve any differences in your reference material.
I will have no other information available on this subject.
With best regards, Louie F. Turner.
