I would say that the list is correct most of the time, but as with all lists put together by the military, there can be mistakes. When researching AAF POW's the data has always corresponded to the day the plane was shot down and the POW was captured for every one I have looked up. On ground personnel it is ussually the day the Germans took the individual into custody. The date could be wrong or he could have evaded for a while and been MIA during the time discrepancy. It is tough to know for sure.
