Hello Cynthia Likely now your query concerning the USLST 30 has been answered, if not, the following may be of interest. On the day, the LST 30 was a unit of the US 55th Division LST assigned to FORCE G Assault Group G3. As such she would have ran to either Gold or Juno beaches and not, as you might expect, to the western sectors of Omaha and Utah. Some thirty US Navy LST were assigned FORCE G and loaded and departed from the Solent. Their departure time is recorded as between 1618-1926 hours on the afternoon of the 5th, arriving off Gold between 1210-1500 hours on the afternoon of the 6th.I have no certain knowledge of where she off-loaded but, if I were to hazard a guess I would favour that she went to Juno. Thereafter, she likely joined the shuttle service of ships back and forth across the English Channel.Hope this helps.
