13th AIR FORCE CREW - MISSING REMAINS
My friends, I once again need your help. I believe the time has come to locate family members of those sevicemen who were killed in the plane crash in 1945 that also claimed my brother. In 1947 skeletal remains of the crew were found. In 1949 these remains were sent to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for a group burial.
They were aboard a B25-J, 13th Air Force, 100th Squadron, 42nd Group.
I have tried for so many years to get answers and over the last year discovered that additional remains were found during three searches in 1951. Research shows the remains and records of 1951 are missing. The government does not know where these remains were sent. They were not added to the group site at J.B. and the families were not notified. In 1953 photos of the lone headstone w/names was sent to the families.
I know the parents are gone now but certainly there are siblings and extended family members that may want to know. I believe if I can locate them and they get involved we may get results. Strength in numbers!
I hope someone can advise how I can locate these families.
Sorry this is so lengthy.
WE MUST NEVER FORGET
