European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct medial, Broze Stars, American theater Operations,Purple Heart. My fathers name is Ernest B. Miller, he was born in Kentucky. He also renlisted after VJ day21945 to 1947. I'm proud to know that my father served. My Mother and father seperated
when I was 7yrs old.I was born in 1948 and my brother was born in 1951. my father never received his medils or ribbons.and Mother were never divorced. My father passed away in 1990. I received a phone call from a man saying that his father and mine had died. I came to find out when I went to the funeral that he had eight kids out of wed lock. He had lived with this women for many years. As soon as my Mother and walked into the funeral palor door they ask me for his army disscharge pappers. It threw me for a loop. I had never seen them before and later came to find out that they were told that there Mother and father were married at the time he was in the army. I know this to be a lie. I have all the documents to prove them wrong but this was not the time nor place to argue. Plus I was there to say hello and goodbye to my father.
No matter what has come to pass or has happen.
I'm trying to get his medials and ribbons by filling out the nessary papper work they send you.But they say there is a back log.
