Hi Mickey, Thank you so much for your reply!! I do in fact have a couple of pictures that show some patches. I can e-mail them to you if you would like. He did not die in military service...he was killed when the car he was riding in was struck by a freight train. He and his brother-in-law were both killed so my grandmother lost her husband and her brother in the same wreck. She doesn't open up much about those years and as far as any military papers she may have my mother says she has never known of my grandmother having any. I wouldn't know who else in the family would have them as all three of his children know very little about him and most of his brothers and sisters as well as his parents are all deceased. That is why it is so very important to me to find a way to get some of this info. My mother and her two brothers want desperately to know things like his rank, where exactly he served, if he ever had any medals, etc. My mother was two when he died and her brothers were three and newborn and although they were around that side of the family as smaller children as they got older most of his siblings passed away before they realized that that would be really their only source of info. and their cousins don't recall much to pass on. If you would like to see the patches on his uniform in the pictures please e-mail me at Lane1122@mchsi.com and I would be glad to send them to you. Thank you so much for the info and I look forward to hearing from you soon!! Take care!!
